The UPHF initiates the first Open Badges of the EUNICE alliance

The Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University presented the first EUNICE Open Badges at the alliance's General Assembly in Vaasa.

An innovative recognition system

Since 2022, the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France has partnered with Open Badge Factory to offer its university community an innovative way to have its know-how, skills, learning and commitments recognized : Open Badges.

This device is a digital tool for recognition in the form of a digital image. The wearer of the badge can thus demonstrate their participation in an event, their involvement in an association, their success in a training course, and much more.

The first EUNICE Open Badges

At the General Assembly of the EUNICE alliance of European universities in Vaasa in February 2023, Jérôme Graindorge, deputy director delegated to digital uses and pedagogical innovation, alongside Eric Rousselle, CEO of Open Badge Factory, presented the concept of Open Badges to the various partners in the consortium.

During this workshop, the participants were able to discover the benefits offered by this device and to reflect together on its future within the EUNICE alliance. They were also able to obtainthe very first Open Badge " EUNICE Ambassador".

If EUNICE is obviously based on the sharing and co-construction of courses and programs of excellence with 10 partners, the whole of this European university community will also be able to engage in open recognition dynamics thanks to the Open Badges.

These Open Badges, beyond a certification for those who wear it, can allow generating a real community around the badge holders, and thus give rise to exchanges within the EUNICE community itself.
