The Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University is an internationally recognized institution.

UPHF ranked in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022

This first participation in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2022 World University Rankings is a success for UPHF.

This includes 1,662 universities (2,100 applied) across 99 countries and territories, making it the largest and most diverse university ranking to date.

Institutions must meet three key criteria to be included in the ranking:

  • Publish a sufficient number of academic articles over a 5-year period - threshold of 1,000 articles.
  • Teach undergraduate students

UPHF ranked in the Times Higher Education - Impact ranking 2021

Une reconnaissance internationale

A second successful participation for UPHF in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2021 ranking, which evaluates universities in terms of economic and social impact in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

3 sources of information are used to compile the Times Higher Education world university rankings:

  • Institutional data provided directly by higher education institutions,
  • The bibliometric data provided by their partner Elsevier from their 'Scopus' bibliometric database,
  • The University Reputation THE survey sent directly to academics. This survey examines the perceived prestige of institutions in teaching and research.

The result is based on 13 indicators that measure an institution's performance in five areas: teaching (30%), research (30%), knowledge transfer and research influence (30%), international outreach (7.5%), and innovation (2.5%).

The 2022 THE ranking includes 39 French institutions. France is ranked 7th in the world, gaining one place from the previous ranking, with 3 institutions ranked in the TOP 100 and 1 in the TOP 50.
4 French institutions have entered the ranking: Arts et Métiers (801-1000), Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (1001-1200), Université de Pau (1201+) and Jean Moulin Université - Lyon 3 (1201+).
On the scale of the Hauts-de-France Region, UPHF is among the 3 institutions ranked in THE World University Rankings 2022.

A 2nd place in the international ranking of software researchers

Matias Martinez

Matias Martinez, researcher at LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 was awarded second place in the software researcher ranking.

He appears within the ranking of "early-stage" scholars in the article  "A bibliometric assessment of software engineering topics, academics and institutions (2013-2020)"

Le classement 2020 « Top 2% Scientists » des scientifiques les plus cités dans le monde est publié par des chercheurs de l’université de Stanford et fait autorité.
En examinant le nombre de publications scientifiques de chaque chercheur et le nombre de citations de celles-ci reprises dans les publications d’autres chercheurs, cette étude a analysé les données de 1996 à 2019 couvrant environ 7 millions de scientifiques de par le monde.
Le classement des 2% les plus cités compte près de 160.000 personnalités scientifiques réparties en 22 domaines scientifiques et 176 sous-catégories.
On y dénombre 4 enseignants-chercheurs de l’UPHF, ce qui confirme la qualité de la recherche scientifique menée au sein de l’Université.
Thierry-Marie Guerra, Damien Trenteseaux et Frédéric Vanderhaegen se classent dans la catégorie « Génie Industriel et Automatique », Serge Nicaise dans la catégorie « Mathématiques ».
