The campuses
Various actions are taken to make campuses friendly, sporty, eco-responsible
Sports campuses
The Polytechnic University Hauts-de-France, an institution labeled Generation 2024, offers numerous sports facilities and provides a wide range of physical, sports, artistic and wellness activities.
Open campus, Mont Houy has the particularity of offering a "blue line", a 9 km off-stadium running track composed of 4 loops (1.3 km, 1.9 km, 2 km and 3.7 km) including 3.5 km of Finnish track!
A centre of sporting excellence
At the start of the 2021 academic year, the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University has its Pole of Sports Excellence in the "Men's Futsal" and "Women's Football" sections.
For this project, the University collaborates with the Football League of Hauts-de-France, the District Escaut Football and the VAFC, soccer club of Valenciennes. The first class will start in September 2021: 24 female students for the women's soccer section and 18 students for the men's futsal section. All benefit from an adapted university course allowing them to carry out their sports project and their training project at the same time.
Eco-responsible campuses
Through an application to the AAP "Water and Biodiversity in an Urbanized Environment" for the Cambrai campus, the UPHF with the support of the community, aims to promote biodiversity, solidarity, and eco-responsibility on this "degraded" site.
This project is a sum of innovative renaturation operations allowing the creation of spaces for exchange and solidarity, well-being by enhancing water management and biodiversity. Once the project is completed, the campus will have 400 linear meters of living hedges with local species, 60 linear meters of fruit hedges with local species and 600m ² of flowering fallows.
