UPHF ranked in THE University Impact Ranking!
A second rather successful participation for UPHF in the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking, which evaluates universities in terms of economic and social impact in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
1,406 institutions from 110 countries appear in this third edition of THE University Impact Ranking.
25 French institutions are ranked and the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France proposed a response on 8 objectives.
The ranking is in fact based on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, which came into force on 01/01/2016, and highlights the institutions whose policies work the most in this direction.
To be included in the overall ranking, institutions are required to provide data for goal #17 - partnerships for achieving the goals - and select at least three additional goals. These data are: the quality of research in the field (automatic query) and the figures and actions implemented (data provided by the institution).
A university's final score is calculated by combining its score in sustainability goal #17 with its top three scores among the remaining 16 goals. No. 17 accounts for 22 % of the overall score, while the others each have a weight of 26 %.
Here are the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals considered by THE, including those chosen by UPHF for this first participation:

The next step ? Analyze our indicators on each of the 8 objectives we answered, in order to identify action levers to progress in the next ranking. Compare the evolution of our scores on the 4 objectives we selected when we first applied in 2020. Also analyze our potential for action on the other objectives of THE ranking for which we had decided not to respond for the moment.
