Re-opening of AGORAé

It was with great shared pleasure that the new AGORAé, located on the first floor of the Eisen building, Campus Mont Houy, was inaugurated this Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the presence of the President of the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France Pr Abdelhakim ARTIBA, Dorothée CALLENS-DEBAVELAERE, Vice-President in charge of student success and student life, Amandine Allard, Vice-President Students, representatives.e.s of the FAGE and FEV associations, volunteers from AGORAé, Isabelle Massa-Turpin, Director of the IUT, and the head of the Crous site de Valenciennes.

At the end of the day, it was the turn of the ARBA...

Past Student Vice-Presidents were also present, AGORAé being a project started already several years ago (in 2015) before the arrival of Covid-19, during which period the University, staff, student volunteers and the Crous organized several actions in favor of students in need notably those in the student residence, food products as well as hot meals, President Artiba recalled.

Today, it's a completely different space dedicated to exchange and solidarity that reopens, large, pleasant, modern and bright, very well equipped (shelving and refrigerated display cases, full kitchen and washing machines for the clothes collected, storeroom, office, relaxation area...). A wide range of goods can be found there, including canned goods, fresh produce, drinks, dry goods, condiments, spices, hygiene products, body care, cleaning products, animal feed, clothes...

The team is ready to welcome student beneficiaries!

AGORAé are spaces for exchange and solidarity, consisting of a living space open to all and a solidarity grocery store accessible on social criteria. Supported and managed by young people for young people, AGORAé are non-stigmatizing places working to promote equal opportunities for access and success in higher education.
