Disciplinary territories are inherently mobile, open to becoming. If the margin is an object of aesthetic and political study, it acts in counterpoint of a " norm ", of the rules, of habitus or customs compared to what is " at the center ", focal point of the attentions and the considerations. In this, the poetics of the margins questions our representations and our so-called acquired, moves the lines, deterritorializes by crossing thresholds, setting in motion new perspectives, transforming accepted territories into more desirable horizons.
If the question of the margin is omnipresent in our respective studies, regardless of discipline, it is because it is crucially open and interdisciplinary. Also, it would generate fundamental opposition games in our works, remobilizing flows, folds, a dialectic that we would humbly define as a dynamism between what would be of the order of the inside (the interior, the organism, the limited) and the outside (geographical, political, legal, symbolic, poetic, artistic). From then on, to think the margins is not only to think what is of the order of the recluse, of the excluded, it is also to think the intermittences of the real, the historiographic unthought posed for example by the central question of epistemology.
The theme concerns literary scholars, linguists, artist-plasticians, and performing artists as much as it does sportsmen and women, historians, geographers, lawyers, economists, and specialists in communication, digital technology, or urban planning.
As an extension of the reflections carried out within LARSH, for example, around the Entre-Deux and the Outsider (Balutet/Nys Seminar), or contributions to doctoral seminars and the upcoming DeScripto 2023 Seminar around the Inquiries, we wish to open our reflections on the issues of margins, centers and peripheries to all Doctoral students in our laboratory.
This day will be an opportunity to exchange from and around dissertation topics from all of our fields. Do not hesitate to make proposals and suggest formats according to your desires. Come in large numbers.
