List of documents to be provided for a doctoral application

1. Completed information form.
2. Photocopy of identity document (identity card or passport). For foreign students already residing in France, add copy of visa.
3. Copy of employment contract for a thesis considered part-time (salaried doctoral student).
4. Curriculum vitae (CV).
5. Letter of motivation written in French or English (one page minimum).
6. A letter of recommendation from the host supervisor or laboratory (optional).
7. Letters of recommendation from your teachers (optional but recommended).
8. Transcript of your BAC (only for the French BAC).
9. Grades from your last 3 years of higher education and syllabus of courses taken for graduate students from a foreign university. Each semester of each year must be supported by a transcript. If you do not have a transcript (examples: internships, gap years, etc.), you must attach proof.
10. Photocopies of diplomas. For students with foreign diplomas, these must be translated into French and certified by a consular officer.
11. Copy of your personal work: records, reports of internships completed, work experience, work contracts, etc. (optional but recommended).

All of these documents are required to finalize step 2 of the 1st year thesis application process.

Additional documents to be attached

The following documents are required to finalize step 10 of the 1st year thesis application procedure.

Cotutelle

• Cotutelle agreement.
• Detailed CV of the foreign co-supervisor (including details of theses already supervised or co-supervised and those in progress).

CIFRE

• Letter of acceptance from ANRT.
• Signed ANRT/company agreement.
• Company's letter of commitment.

Employee

• A copy of the employment contract.
  - Letter from the employer authorizing the doctoral student to do a thesis, the percentage of time released for the completion of the thesis.

The PHF doctoral school may need to ask the applicant for additional information or documents.
