The history of dance is still largely the history of stage works, famous creators and institutions. Here, we seek to shed light on the lesser-known figure of dance teachers during the Ancien Régime.
These study days will take place as part of the EnDansant project funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) and devoted to the history of teachers∙es in dance from the XVIIth century to the present day, in France and Europe. They will also be an opportunity to share the results of a second year of investigation, and will include time for practical experimentation based on historical sources. They will be aimed at both researchers∙euses and practitioners∙nes of dance and its teaching.
