The valorization of research is focused on the development of partnerships with the business world.

Development through research partnerships

The valorization activity at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France has always been focused on the development of partnerships with the business world, which has taken shape through research-transfer partnerships initiated for decades, and more recently through the establishment of joint laboratories promoting public-private research.

In this context, the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University decided to create a company VALUTEC SA in 1998, which has, among other things, the vocation of managing research and transfer activities in collaboration with the Research and Transfer Department of the University.

Research promotion missions: informing and accompanying

The research valorization actions are mainly declined in the following way:

  1. Information on intellectual property and administrative and legal management of contracts related to research
  2. Accompaniment of valorization projects:

The Research and Development Department drafts, analyzes, and negotiates any contract related to research (confidentiality agreement, research framework agreement, research contract, study contract, CIFRE agreement....). It develops the project with the researcher and acts as a link with the company in contractual matters.

The research and development department assists researchers with patent filing projects (invention declaration, prior art search, connection with an industrial property firm).

In the field of entrepreneurship, awareness, training and support actions are organized for researchers and PhD students.
The Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France is a partner of the regional innovative business incubator (MITI) which accompanies and financially supports the creation of innovative projects.

✓ Assistance des laboratoires dans leurs démarches d'achats selon le code de la commande publique en lien avec la cellule marchés

Valorisation socio-économique

✓ Détection des résultats valorisables des projets de recherche
✓ Déclaration de créations d'œuvres originales, de savoir-faire, de logiciels et d'inventions
✓ Dépôt de demande de titres de propriété (brevets, logiciels, savoir-faire)

Le SPV est l'interlocuteur privilégié dans l'accompagnement des chercheurs dans leurs démarches auprès de la SATT Nord pour leurs projets de demande de dépôt de brevet (déclaration d'invention, recherche d'antériorité, et relation avec un cabinet en propriété intellectuelle).
