UPHF International Immersion School 2025

In addition to exchange programs, our university offers the opportunity to study in Valenciennes for shorter periods through our short programs. These programs are designed for international students looking to gain academic and cultural experience in France without committing to a full semester or year. By participating, students can enhance their language skills, develop an intercultural perspective, and engage in hands-on learning through a mix of courses, company visits, and cultural excursions. Our short programs provide a unique chance to experience French culture in an immersive and dynamic environment. Whether you want to deepen your expertise in a specific field or simply explore new academic horizons, our short programs are an excellent way to broaden your international experience.

UPHF International Immersion School 2025 offers a unique summer educational experience from July 1–12, 2025, at our vibrant campus in Valenciennes, France. This first edition of the program is specifically designed for ambitious Chinese undergraduate and graduate students aiming to deepen their project management skills while gaining extensive international exposure and cultural enrichment.

Program Objectives

Focused on Project Management, our program provides participants with more than 30 hours of intensive academic courses and workshops. After the program, students will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals and key phases of project management.
  • Develop the skills to effectively plan, execute, monitor, and close projects.
  • Participate in comparative analyses of international project management practices, with case studies focusing on successful projects across America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
  • Enhance intercultural communication and global networking skills.
  • Acquire basic knowledge of the French language and gain insight into French culture through immersive activities and interactions.

Our courses provide participants with targeted knowledge and practical skills in international project management:

Introduction into Project Management (9 hours)
Participants will understand project management fundamentals, major project phases, and essential management tools and best practices.

Comparative Analysis of Chinese Projects in America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East: Lessons for Global Project Management (8 hours)
Gain insights into Chinese project management globally, understanding cultural, regulatory, and geopolitical impacts, and learn strategies for managing diverse international projects through case studies.

Fundamentals of International Business – Leading International Project (5 hours)
Explore core concepts on leading international business projects and navigate complexities unique to the global project environment.

Understanding France and the French (5 hours)
This course provides a mix of language learning and intercultural communication, offering insights into key aspects of French culture and practical guidance on interacting effectively with French people.

Please note that all information is subject to change.

  • Two practical industrial visits to reinforce classroom learning and provide firsthand experience in real-world project management environments.
  • Cultural excursions to explore Valenciennes, Paris, and Brussels.

Language : English (Required level: minimum B1 or equivalent)
Fee : €1300 per participant (includes tuition, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and cultural excursions)

Note: We provide airport pick-up and drop-off services from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Participants are responsible for their visa application, associated fees, and international transport to and from France
