All the papers will be presented online. The presentations will be recorded and made available to the participants for at two months.
All papers must be submitted using the PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System. Please use this link and choose CESCIT’21 from the list of available events.
Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference and present their work either online or in the conference physical sessions. In both cases, the presentation (slides and talk) will be recorded (obviously subject to permission of the presenter) and made available to the participants during a given time to be specified later.
Paper submission
Contributions are expected to be original work and not already published or under-review elsewhere. Papers must be written in English and formatted according to the IFAC style. Paper length is limited to 6 pages. The IFAC Author guide (including word & latex templates) is available here.
Proceedings of IFAC CESCIT’21 will be published online in the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series.
Open Invited Track proposals
An Open Invited Track consists of regular papers with a targeted subject (within the conference scope). An Open Invited Track should gather at least 5 papers. There is no upper limit on the number of papers. The Open Invited Track proposal must include:
- A title
- A keyword list
- A motivation/description of the topic targeted
- A number of potential contributors
Open invited track proposals have to be submitted through the PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System. Together with the acknowledgement that the proposal has been submitted, the organizers receive a session code. This code should be distributed to potential contributors, as it is required for submission of a paper to the proposed Open Invited Track. Additionally, proposed Open Invited Tracks will also be advertised on the conference website. Each paper submitted to the track will be individually reviewed. Open Invited Tracks that fall within the scope of CESCIT’21 and have gathered more than five accepted papers will be part of the final conference program.
Application Extended Abstract
Application Extended Abstracts are short (2 to 4 page) papers addressing a specific application. Contributions concerning industrial applications are particularly welcome.
Extended Abstracts should be formatted according to the IFAC style and submitted through the PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System. Each submission will be reviewed. Accepted Extended Abstracts will only be included as preprints and they will not be published on IFAC-PapersOnLine.
IFAC Young Author Award
The IFAC Young Author Award will be awarded to a young researcher during CESCIT 2021. Eligible candidates are first authors of a high-quality regular or Open Invited Track submission, having a student status (PhD, Master) at the time of the submission, and have to present the paper during the conference.
Nominations must be submitted through PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System and they are made by supervisors or reviewers. Self-nominations are not allowed. The nomination form is available.
Nomination opens after initial paper submission is closed. Nomination deadline: 15 May 2021.
The Young Author Award Committee will select the finalists based on the nominations, gathered reviews, and their own reading of the papers. Finalists will be informed before the conference. The winner will be chosen from the finalists after the presentation of the paper at the conference.
Copyright Conditions
All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behaviour in the review process as explained on the Elsevier webpage, and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines.
Accepted papers that have been presented at an IFAC meeting will be published in the proceedings of the event using the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series hosted on ScienceDirect. To this end, the author(s) must grant exclusive publishing rights to IFAC under a Creative Commons license when they submit the final version of the paper. The copyright belongs to the authors, who have the right to share the paper in the same terms allowed by the end user license, and retain all patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights (including research data).
